A former House of Assembly candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Kehinde Alex Bankole popularly known as KAB, has called on Nigerian and Kwara leaders to intensify efforts on performances, to enable the country and the state to enjoy dividends of democracy together. A stalwart of the Peoples' Democratic Party and former gubernatorial aspirant in Kwara State, Hon Zakari Mohammed has described Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s one year in office as a disaster foretold, describing his administration as a ‘one chance government’. In a statement signed by Zakari Mohammed, the politician lamented the dawdle and fate that has befallen the State, adding that the State of Harmony never had it so bad, in recent time. Edo Governorship: APC crisis deepens as NWC approves direct primary

The National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)   has adopted direct primary for the Edo State governorship election, two members of the NWC told this newspaper, a move that has been condemned by the state chapter of the party. The NWC at its Thursday meeting, however, reached no decision on the method of primary for Ondo State. The Edo State APC primary has been slated for June 22 while that of Ondo State is to hold on July 20. In a phone interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Friday, the APC spokesperson, Lanre Issa-Onilu, confirmed that the party’s NWC reached the agreement on Thursday at the party secretariat in Abuja. “It is true, we’ve adopted a direct primary method for Edo governorship primary,” he said but declined further comment on the new development. This is coming less than a week after no fewer than 2500 economically vulnerable persons across the State each got N10,000, also from Senator Saraki. The Press Officer to Saraki on Local Matters, Abdulqadir Abdulganiyu, who made this known in a statement, said the money was to support the beneficiaries during this difficult times occasioned by the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic. The Professional Disc Jockeys Association of Nigeria (PDJAN) on Thursday claimed to be at the receiving end of the restriction order caused by the coronavirus pandemic, in the entertainment industry. Nigerian Tribune reports that the association’s u officer, Mr Onyenegecha Isaac (Dj MarSs), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos State that the social distancing precaution made them shut down activities.
