Eid-l-Fitri : Amb Abass Damilola sends strong message to Muslims

Amb  Damilola in press statement made available to this Medium through his media aide urges all Muslims brother and sister to Keep  there self  and there loved ones well during Ramadan this year,  will mean adapting usual religious and cultural practices.

The Statement reads : Traditionally Ramadan is a time for communal prayer, spiritual reflection, meals with extended family and friends to break daily fasts with, and concludes with the community celebration of Eid-Al Fitr. While staying at home throughout the holy month of Ramadan though is very challenging, but  it is necessary to protect ourself and loves one from contacting this deadly virus (COVID-19).

Staying at home to pray on Eld - Al Fitr.  will surely play an important part in the nation’s effort to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). That’s the message from health experts and Muslim leaders as communities across Kwara State (Ilorin)  prepare to celebrate the holy month end at their home as directed by our fatherly father Alh. Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari CFR.  (The Emir of Ilorin).  Muslims are reminded that the rakat of Eid-il-fitri nafilat attracts seven (7) Allahu Akbar while the second final rakat attracts reading 6. The Imam leading the family prayer must avoid delivering Uthba message before and after the prayer.

Amb Damilola ,  ( urge all Muslims brother and sister to Keep  there self  and there loved ones well during Ramadan this year,  will mean adapting usual religious and cultural practices. This is particularly important for protecting vulnerable people who are shielding because of underlying health conditions as well as family, friends and carers of those who are most vulnerable.

Amb Abass Damilola ,  I Urge Muslims that, During and After this Ramadan, let’s think about how we can best protect the most vulnerable in our families, amongst our neighbours and in all our diverse communities. By working together we can minimise the transmission of coronavirus and reduce the chances of overwhelming our health and care services.

There can be no actual progress unless we actually work together to over come this deadly virus (COVID-19), However, I urge us all to eschew provocative statements that could mar the success of our dear Nation” Amb Abass Damilola  Stated; Nonetheless, I appealed to Kwarans to use this upcoming  occasion to pray fervently for ourselves, state and nation particularly.

Signed:
Amb. Abass Damilola
