Governor Godwin Obaseki on Friday formally joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and picks nomination form for Edo 2020 governorship election. Governor Obaseki was received by the leadership of the party led Edo PDP Chairman, Hon Tony Aziegbemi at the state Secretariat  along 1st East Circular Road. Top political appointees and the governor’s followers accompanied the governor to the party secretariat. He will contest PDP Primaries for Edo 2020 governorship poll alongside three other aspirants on June 23.

The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has renamed a street after the former Senate president of the 8th assembly Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki. The Governor who newly decamped to The Peoples' Democratic Party on Friday renamed the street as he pledged his allegiance to his new party. The street was formerly named after the former governor and immediate predecessor of Obaseki Comrade Adams Oshiomole. Following the fall out of the two, the governor has now named the Adams Oshiomole crescent to Bukola Saraki’s Boulevard, Auchi, Edo State.

He was a leader and emerging Philanthropist during his life time, an humble man with a reputable character. It was shocked and sudden to received the bad news over the demise of Larry. We are using this medium to appreciate almighty Allah and to congratulate the former senate president of federal republic of Nigeria Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON) on his victory with the Efcc over forfeiture of ikoyi building. We commend the judiciary for taking their time to finding the root of the allegations and establish the fact. It was clear to the public that puppet allegations were mere political witch-hunt which we believe the recent judiciary autonomy would bring more transparency and justice to Nigeria judiciary system.
